Balenciaga in hot water over controversial teddy-bear campaign, Kim Kardashian speaks out

Balenciaga faces intense backlash and conspiracy after their latest holiday ad campaign portrayed children posing with teddy bears dressed in BDSM costumes.

The high-end fashion house immediately revoked the campaign as soon as it stirred outrage, claiming the images of the children did not have company approval, and now seek legal action with a $25 million lawsuit against the agency responsible for fabricating the ad.

Kim Kardashian, who frequently collaborates with the fashion brand, took to Twitter to defend her silence within the past week and reflect on her long-time relationship with the luxury label.

“I have been quiet the past few days, not because I haven’t been shocked and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened,” the Kardashians star wrote. “As a mother of four, I have been shaken by those disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and anything against it should have no place in our society-period.”

Balenciaga addressed the controversy in a statement posted to the brand’s Instagram story, apologizing for the disturbing images displayed in the holiday campaign.

“We apologize for displaying unsettling documents in our campaign,” the brand wrote in a statement posted to its Instagram Story. “We take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and including unapproved items for our Spring 23 campaign photoshoot. We strongly condemn abuse of children in any form. We stand for children safety and well-being.”
