The agency now says that people who come in contact with an infected person “do not necessarily need a test” if they don’t have any symptoms.
While asymptomatic or presymptomatic transmission is still possible, the CDC says testing is recommended only for “vulnerable” individuals or if your doctor or local health officals recommend it.
