Silly string has been around since the 1970’s and it’s been getting caught in our hair & clothes during festive occasions ever since. But did you know the invention of “aerosol-propelled plastic string” was completely accidental, because the creators were initially trying to make something for use in the medical field.

After testing many different nozzles they found one that shot string 30 feet across the room… and they decided to make it into a toy instead. What was the intended medical purpose when silly string was first created?
