 For 34 years, ArtiGras has been all about the artists – 300 fine artists in fact – many of whom travel from all over the United States to showcase their very best in ceramics, digital art, drawing and printmaking, fiber wearable and nonwearable, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture and wood. This creates a unique shopping experience, with original works of art and the opportunity to meet and greet with the artists. The festival also hosts an “Emerging Artist” program to support and develop first time art festival exhibitors in Palm Beach County.

 Internationally renowned collage artist, Derek Gores has been chosen as the official commemorative poster artist for 2019. Derek works entirely in recycled and repurposed materials – which resonates with ArtiGras sustainability efforts. He was the official artist for the 2013 Kentucky Derby and was also named “one of the 40 important artists of the New Contemporary Movement” in the Thinkspace exhibit in London. Considered part of the Pop Surrealism and New Contemporary movements, Gores’ exhibits with top galleries in Los Angeles, Paris, New England and Quebec and clients include Prada, E! Entertainment, Adidas, Rinascente, Playboy and Style Fashion Week, among others.

 ArtiGras is working to make this year’s festival more environmentally friendly. This year there will be a “no straw at Artigras” policy, meaning there will be no plastic straws distributed onsite by vendors. Advanced recycling initiatives facilitated by SWA will also foster a “Recycle Right” festival site, focused on sustainability. In addition, ArtiGras will continue the Recycling is an Art program this year, which brings the recycling conversation into the schools. There the kids create a collaborative class project and submit for judging. The piece is created entirely with recycled materials and displayed throughout the three days of the festival. ArtiGras gives cash prizes to the art departments that participate. Loggerhead Marinelife Center will provide a Sustainability Station at the festival to provide the public with more information on the festival’s efforts, as well as what can be done on an everyday basis to advance sustainability for our region.

 ArtiGras has called Abacoa, Jupiter home for over 16 years and the celebration continues to attract patrons from across Palm Beach County, the Treasure Coast and beyond. This year, the Artigras site will be the next destination for the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County’s “Shades of Culture” installation. The large scale sunglasses will land on February 1st to set the stage for ArtiGras  2019 and be a great “selfie spot” for guests of the festival. The over-sized “sunnies” measure in at 8 ft. x 20 ft. and will punctuate the important role that ArtiGras plays in #palmbeachculture.

 ArtiGras has become known as a festival that is truly “fun for the entire family”! Each year, the festival hosts more than 20 arts organizations from all over the region, providing a wide variety of interactive art activities for children and families in the Hanley Foundation ArtiKids Zone. Additionally the works of student artists from across the Palm Beaches, competing in the Youth Art Competition, sponsored by Hanley Foundation, will be on display and the winners will be announced during a ceremony on Saturday morning. Cash prizes are awarded to students in K-12 art programs who participate and this year’s theme is “Wild Florida”. Don’t miss live entertainment on our main stage and a wide variety of delicious food and beverages.

 Did you know that it takes more than 1,000 volunteers to make ArtiGras a success? There are various roles and shifts available throughout the three-day event, from the Hanley Foundation Youth Art and ArtiKids Zone, to Merchandise, Volunteer Headquarters, Hospitality and more. You can join our volunteer team and support the arts in your community by going to artigras.org. ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival is proud to bring the arts to this community and is presented by Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and produced by Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce.
