‘Game of Thrones’ Wins Top Award at the Emmys

The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards happened on Sunday night (September 22nd) and as expected Game of Thrones won Outstanding Drama Series and although the HBO series was nominated for a record 32 nominations, it only won 2.

Peter Dinklage won Best Supporting Actor in a Drama while all the Game of Thrones nominees for Best Female Actress in a Drama lost to Ozark’s Julia Garner.

Sandra Oh was poised to be the first Asian to win for Best Lead Actress in a Drama, however, she lost to Jodi Comer for her role in Killing Eve.

Fleabag took Outstanding Comedy Series, Pose’s Billy Porter won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. When They See Us scored one win with Jharrel Jerome winning Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited TV or Movie Series.
