Kodak Black is going to prison for nearly four years.
The 22-year-old rapper, who’s been on trial for weapons charges, was given a 46-month sentence Wednesday in a Miami courtroom. Judge Frederico A. Moreno also ordered Black to serve three years’ probation once he’s released. The sentence falls short of the 10-year maximum he was facing.
Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, has been behind bars since May, when he was arrested just before he was expected onstage at the Rolling Loud hip-hop festival.
Does 46 months seem a little extreme for an act that didn’t victimize anyone? Are authorities making an example of Black?
