R. Kelly returned to court on Wednesday.
His attorneys were hoping to lower the monthly child support payments to his ex-wife, Drea. Kelly is supposed to be paying over $20,000 a month.
After the hearing, Kelly’s lawyer said no changes in the payment amounts were made. They are hoping for a new court date to discuss the matter further.
Kelly was arrested and put in jail for back child support last week. He owed over $161,000 in payments. Kelly was released when the money was paid. He is still dealing with the 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse in another well-publicized case.
In addition, there was a 911 call about a suicide threat tip sent cops to the home of R. Kelly on Tuesday, the police arrived at the Trump Tower in Chicago and entered Kelly’s home where his attorneys told police everything was fine.
In the 911 call, the person claimed that Aziel Curry and four other women had made a suicide pact and were planning to kill themselves.
It was found the call came from the National Human Trafficking Hotline and was a hoax, R. Kelly had been in a meeting for two hours prior to the police arrival.
