Ballots are out for nominations for the Country Music Association Awards.
Voters are struggling to decide on how to recognize Lil Nas X’s Old Town Road.
The song is now the longest running #1 song in the history of Billboard’s HOT 100 charts.
The CMA voters are comprised of musicians, producers, songwriters, touring professionals and country radio employees.
Final nominations will be announced end of August/September. Show airs November 13th.
Shane McAnally; one of country’s biggest hitmakers says that while he is impressed with the song, the song never felt country to him.
Country people do not see it as a country song but pop listeners think it is a country song.
